Our guest for this installment of the EMcentric Shift Report is Dr. John Jones of Virginia. Having practiced for years in a busy suburban environment, he has most recently been President of the democratic group, Virginia Emergency Medicine Associates (VEMA).
Dr. Jones speaks with us about what he has learned managing an emergency medicine group in an increasingly challenging environment, and provides advice for emergency medicine residents who may be looking for their first job. He also shares some insights for physicians and for the public on manage the current stresses of the specialty, including what boarding and financial stresses are doing to hospitals.
